It is the second career conference honor for the Lubbock native, who won the weekly award on April 11, 2016, after an impressive weekend at Oklahoma State. Davis' is also the second-straight Red Raider to receive the distinction, as junior infielder Orlando Garcia won last week.

The accolade marks the seventh weekly conference award for a Red Raider in 2017, as Tanner Gardner (March 13), Steven Gingery (Feb. 27), Hunter Hargrove (Feb. 21), Josh Jung (Feb. 21) and Grant Little (March 27) have all earned recognition by the Big 12 this year.

Davis hit .450 last week at the plate over 20 at-bats, leading the team in hits (nine), RBI (seven) and home runs (three). His three dingers came in three-straight games, the first against New Mexico, with the last two on the road at K-State. He is the second Red Raider this season to hit a homer in three consecutive contests.

He produced a multi-hit bid in all four games last week, including a three-hit performance in the series finale against the Wildcats. He also scored a run in each game, while tallying three RBI in half of the contests. On Saturday in Manhattan, Davis helped turn a season-high four double plays, increasing the team season total to 31, which ranks third in the conference.

The No. 4 Red Raiders travel to Midland for a midweek tilt against New Mexico State on Tuesday, April 18, at 7 p.m. at Security Bank Ballpark.
