A noose was found at the home of Bubba Wallace, the only black NASCAR driver. The symbolism (hundreds of years of lynchings) is obvious. His crime to deserves this? He spoke out against the racism the confederate flag stands for and NASCAR banned the flag.
For anybody, including people on rhis board, that argue for the flag and other confederate symbols and say they're not racist, you're being incredibly naive.
There's a reason removal of the flag was met by a noose threat to Bubba Wallace. Because that's what that flag, and other symbols, mean to racists and white supremacists. It is, and always has been, a symbol of white power to them.
Is everyone draping themselves on confederate regalia racist? Probably not. But why have symbols in this countrt that lead people to threaten people with a hanging? Why not relegate symbols of racism to the trash heap of history? Because as evidenced right now, those symbols are still inspiring racism.
