He is now 28-29 as head coach at Tech. His record against non-Power 5 teams, Kansas and Iowa State is 19-2. Against everyone else he is 9-27. Those 9 wins include the following:
2013 - TCU (4-8), WVU (4-8) and ASU (10-4)
2015 - Arkansas (8-5), UT (5-7) and K-State (6-7)
2016 - TCU (6-7), Baylor (7-6)
2017 - ASU (currently 3-3)
So, in 4.5 seasons he has beaten three Power 5 teams that finished season with winning record (2013 ASU, 2015 Arkansas and 2016 Baylor).
