Kliff gave a short keynote speech this morning at the Football Kickoff Lubbock Chamber of Commerce Breakfast. Nothing earth shattering, other than he confirmed there will not be a public announcement of QB1. They will "trot the starter out in 2 saturdays".
Overall, very upbeat tone and positive message. Reading between the lines, Kliff seems excited about what this team can do.
Coolest part was Taylor Nunez gave the opening prayer. Kliff then explained his story. Came to TTU as a walk-on QB from Midland. Asked him to gain 50(!!!!) lbs and move to d-line. ME major with a 3.875 gpa. Put him on scholarship 2 weeks ago. Loud applause from the crowd. Impressive, imo.
