Q. The 2nd amendment does not protect owning an AR-15, Should AR-15 be banned from civilian use? Do you agree?

A. Whatever you learned at Cal State, it wasn’t the Constitution. Your education system has failed you badly, or you slept through civics. Not sure which.
The 2A keeps government from infringing on our right to keep and bear arms. “Arms” is a general term generally meaning weapons of ANY KIND. The courts will likely tend towards “man portable”, but that wasn’t the original meaning. The AR is just ”Another Rifle”. It is just a .223 caliber rifle - nothing special and certainly nothing as destructive as, say, a .30–06 deer rifle round or a .338 Lapua Magnum round.
More people die from shoving stuff up their butts and rupturing their colon than die from rifle fire of all kinds, not just ARs. Think about that - more people die of sepsis from autoerotic events than die from being shot by any kind of rifle.
Yet you somehow believe the very few instances of an AR used in crimes justifies banning them from the 25 million or so people who don’t abuse them.
How cute.
