Was listening to Breitbart this morning giving credit to Trump and touting the "lowest black unemployment rate in history." This is a common them around here as the Trump crowd loves to throw out that little line. It is also common for the Trumpers to dismiss anything positive that happens with Obama and EVERYTHING positive is solely because of Trump. Well lets look at the facts.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the official record keepers, black unemployment was 12.7% when Obama took office. At the time, the economy was loosing 750,000 jobs per month thanks to the absolute shit economy left by his predecessor. As a result, black unemployment hit 16.8% within a year of Obama taking office. This increase was not limited to blacks. When you inherit an economy losing 750,000 jobs per month unemployment rates are going up for everyone.
Black unemployment was 7.8% when Obama left office. Put another way, Black unemployment decreased 54% from its highs under Obama. Trump came in and took over a strong economy; An economy producing 200K+ jobs per month. Now black unemployment has gone down from 7.8% to 6.5%.
Here is what I don't understand. How is it you Trump people so cavalierly dismiss EVERYTHING positive that happened under Obama? It is so bad you try to give Trump sole credit for black unemployment being where it is today; as though the previous 8 years of decreases did not happen.
