Quick recap for anyone interested that didn't see other scores from this weekend:

Conference standings are as follows: (am only posting conference records, will do a little more on each team below)

UT: 5-1
TCU: 4-2
OSU: 4-2
Tech: 3-3
OU: 3-3
BU: 4-5
KU: 1-2
WVU: 2-4
KSU: 1-5

TCU, UT and WVU were all playing non-con series this past weekend.

UT was SWEPT on the road at Nebraska. UT only scored 3 runs the whole weekend, with 2 of those runs coming on Sunday. NU has a decent pitching staff, but nothing that should only allow UT 3 runs. UT will go on the road this weekend to face OSU.

TCU took all 3 games from Wichita State, winning 14-1, 8-4 and 11-2. TCU
now stands with a record of 21-4 and is 4-2 in conference play (swept
Baylor 3 weeks ago in FTW and lost 2 of 3 to OSU AT HOME). TCU will next play at UT Arlington before coming to Lubbock for a Thursday, Friday, Saturday series with Tech (Easter weekend, no game on Sunday).

OSU sits at 19-8 on the year. As was mentioned earlier, they took 2 of 3 from TCU in Fort Worth. They also took 2 of 3 from KSU this past weekend, where they lost on Friday 4-2, then came back to with the series by the scores of 12-3 and 4-1. OSU has a midweek game against Oral Roberts before playing UT in Stillwater this weekend.

Tech took 2 of 3 from KU this weekend after losing the Friday game. Dusek is out for the forseable future with shoulder inflammation. Moseley and Smith will probably be your Friday/Saturday starters with TBA making the appearance on Sundays. Big series this coming weekend against TCU, who we took the series from last year in Fort Worth, but the season record vs TCU was 2-4 due to playing them in a midweek game.

OU sits at 18-12 overall and 3-3 in conference after taking 2 of 3 from Tech two weeks ago and then dropping 2 of 3 to Baylor this past weekend. OU lost both Friday and Saturday games, having to win on Sunday just to avoid being swept. OU has a 4 game home stretch in which they will host Central Arkansas before their weekend series with KU.

BU is out first team from the Big 12 to show a losing record this year at 12-15. The Bears sit at 4-5 in conference, where they were swept by TCU before running off two series wins against WVU and OU. BU won both Friday and Saturday games in each series, where they had the opportunity to sweep each, but could not accomplish that feat. BU has won 6 of their last 9 games and play a non-con series with Texas State this weekend.

KU is our next losing team sitting at 10-17. KU just finished their series in Lubbock last weekend where the Red Raiders took 2 of 3 in nail biting fashion on Sunday. Tech was the first Big 12 series for KU who has a 4 game road stretch where they will face Wichita State before heading to Norman for their series with OU. KU only has 6 wins in their last 15 games and 4 wins in their last 13. Would not be surprised to see them get swept this weekend against OU.

WVU comes in at 15-10 on the year with a 2-4 record in conference. They have dropped both of their Big 12 series so far to UT and BU. WVU is on a 6 game winning streak, although, it is against Baylor (Sunday game), SFA, UTA and Charleston Southern (3 games). WVU has a 5 game road trip ahead with a midweek game against Pitt and then on to Manhattan to face KSU, with a midweek game the following week against Maryland.

KSU brings up the rear at 12-14 and a miserable start in conference play of 1-5. WVU was swept by UT a few weeks ago, but was able to take the Friday night game against OSU before falling Saturday and Sunday this past weekend. KSU next hosts WVU, in which will likely be the battle to stay out of the cellar.

The Big 12 is a lot closer for the top teams than most people would have probably predicted, but I think this weekend will show a little separation and clarity as to who the top teams are, as all teams, except for Baylor, will be playing a conference opponent this weekend. Key is to not get swept for any, obviously, and to steal a series on the road.

My prediction will be that OSU takes 2 of 3 from UT this weekend, TCU will take 2 of 3 from Tech, OU will take 2 of 3 from KU and WVU will take 2 of 3 from KSU.
