So Dems are upset that Joe Biden said he worked with segregationists in the Senate to get things done. Everyone seems to be focusing on the wrong thing. How is no one appalled that Georgia and Mississippi could send segregationists to the Senate. James O. Eastland, the "voice of the white south," was just fine to represent his state in the late 1970s. Racist Herman Talmadge represented his state until 1981. That, my friends, is the larger issue. We still have a long way to go.
