Best Travel Agency

I have been talking to Apple Vacations locally but wanted to see people's opinion on what is best and most affordable as far as a travel agency. I went to Apple mainly to get reviews on what places to go to and what resorts are best. However, I have heard it can be better to book a trip on your own through TripAdvisor, Priceline, or Bookit, because it is cheaper and the cancellation policy is more reliable. Any thoughts or recommendations?
