I have had a chance to be around the team a little and wanted to give you guys some feedback.

Believe me, we look very, very good.

The additions of Matt and Tariq look significant. They have great attitudes and are talented. Tariq is freaky athletic and is beginning to look a little more comfortable with his change of school and system. He is agile, quick and has a shot that has promise. Same goes for Matt. He is a mature player, is skilled and should be a major influence as to how far we go this year, IMO.

Of the new youngsters, I really like Kyler Edwards. I'm not the only one who thinks that he can be really good. He is quick, smart and shoots well...serious upside!

Khavon Moore is now starting to look more relaxed and is getting better on the floor. He missed the summer and as such is behind. He just needs time. He'll be good, I'm sure.

Joshua Mballa is a physical, athletic freshman who missed the first summer session as a late signee, so we need to give him some time, but he has a chance to be good. Not a great shooter, but an athletic defender for sure.

Of the returners, I remain a huge fan of Brandone Francis. He brings an edge and is a positive influence, even in September. Jarrett is Jarrett...'nuff said! Malik is looking a little more developed and at times shoots well, especially his soft hook shot in the paint. Norense is definitely more athletic and doesn't look anything like he did three years ago. He has been is doing well and will be a valued senior.

Davide is looking a heck of a lot more relaxed as a "veteran" sophomore! He should definitely be much more prepared for the season and should earn more minutes. He also looks seriously better, physically. Not so much bigger, just in really good shape!

Edit: I forgot to mention Deshawn (darn it!)....I'm tickled for him! He has slimmed down and trimmed the hair. He is ON board and looks to be making the transition. Not exactly sure just what that means yet, but I am hopeful for him. He is athletic and working hard to earn minutes.

As an overall observation, I would tell you that the chemistry and attitude looks superior. Again, we have no one with any attitude. No bad apples, only hard working, great athletes.

Finally, all is in place for the Womble. I don't need to say any more, but it is moving forward and will be highly significant!

These are the best of times for those of us who choose to follow and support our program. The fact that we will have a 5th top 150 recruit here this weekend says it all.

Winter in Lubbock will be fun!
