OK......so everything I am hearing is that Keenan Evans has blown away the staff with his development. Obviously the Canada trip was good for him, but it sounds like he is taking over as the team's floor leader. I must admit that I thought that Devon Thomas might have had a chance to take that spot....and he still could, I guess....but it sure would be good to have Keenan elevate.
Also, very little was known about Jordan Jackson. We have Gotcher and DWill back as seniors, so he was a lesser "need" but.....from all accounts and the Canada observations, he has turned it up to a new level. His mom is coming in this weekend for a visit and was interviewed on Tech Talk at lunch. She is tickled to have here and it got me fired up, thinking we might have another competitor from the same bloodlines. Please understand, he is not a big guy. He is around 6'2" or so, but needs good weight added. At the same time, he is crazy quick and athletic and he is very aggressive. He might just add a very interesting dimension that many of us had not planned on having.
Finally, Justin Gray is evidently continuing to get stronger and lift his game in practice. His size, athleticism and savvy is that other added dimension that this team needs, IMO. Great hearing reports that the staff is pleased with his process.
I'm excited about the upcoming football season, but make no mistake, this basketball program is determined to improve also!!!
