LUBBOCK, Texas – For the sixth-consecutive year, Texas Tech has sold out of its season ticket allotment for the upcoming baseball season.

More than 2,700 season tickets have been sold for the 2020 season, establishing a new season ticket sales record. It is the sixth sellout in eight years under head coach Tim Tadlock and his staff's leadership.

Anticipation for the upcoming campaign has fueled ticket sales once again as the Red Raiders are coming off their third Big 12 championship in four years, their fourth College World Series in six years and a No. 4 final ranking.

"Seven seasons ago, our staff set out to put a team together that you would not want to leave your seat and that would have you craving to watch Texas Tech baseball no matter who was on the schedule that day," Tadlock said. "There has been some great teams and some great players walk through those gates and your commitment to them has been something that is truly special.

"For the sixth year in a row, our baseball fans are to be commended for selling out our season ticket allotment. Our attendance ranking is right there with the programs whose stadiums hold a higher capacity than ours. We feel like we have a group that merits watching on their grit and talent alone, and we would love to see our average attendance keep moving towards number one. We are looking forward to seeing you at the ballpark!"

The Red Raiders annually boast one of the nation's toughest schedules, and the 2020 slate is no different. Tech will play 30 games in the confines of Rip Griffin Park, including marquee non-conference opponents Minnesota, Oregon, Rice and UNLV as well as Big 12 Conference series against Texas, Oklahoma, West Virginia and Kansas State.

Opening day in Lubbock is set for Friday, Feb. 14, against Houston Baptist at 1 p.m. Tech will also host Northern Colorado on opening weekend and split four games between the two schools with a doubleheader on Saturday before the weekend finale on Sunday.
