My co-worker was in a fender bender and called his company (USAA) when he got to the office. It was the other guys fault and he got all of his information. When he went to the collision place the guy told him he should have never involved his policy holder (USAA) and just had straight communitcation with the other at fault guys company. Also, he said he was open to having his rates raised even though he wasnt at fault.

I always assumed you should always notify your company in case there is an issue down the road. I figured its better my company be in the loop from the start. I know some of you guys are in the industry so whats the play here? Thanks,
