"On Saturday, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said in a statement it was investigating the shooting of Mr. Brooks. The state agency said that at about 10:33 p.m. Friday, Atlanta Police Department officers were dispatched to a Wendy’s after receiving a complaint of a male asleep in a vehicle parked in the drive-through, which caused customers to drive around the vehicle.
Mr. Brooks failed a field sobriety test and resisted being placed into custody. During a struggle, an officer deployed a Taser, according to the state agency.
“Witnesses report that during the struggle the male subject grabbed and was in possession of the Taser,” the agency said in a statement. “It has also been reported that the male subject was shot by an officer in the struggle over the Taser.”
No idea if police went too far or not, but I do know this ... Brooks would be alive today if:
1. he didn't pass out in his vehicle in the drive thru from drugs and / or alcohol
2. he didn't resist arrest
3. he didn't grab the officer's taser and try to or actually shoot at police
civilization requires personal responsibility. the black community will continue to suffer as long as its leaders ignore this and shift blame. stop voting democrat is a great start.
