I came down with a kidney stone Sunday. Thought I was gonna die. They gave me some morphine, CT showed a 2mm stone. Now I’m at home with an rx for Norco and toradol.

Yesterday morning, I thought I was feeling better, so I stopped the meds. That was a mistake. I had lots of kidney, bladder, and abdominal pain, even after resuming the pain meds.

Today I’ve stayed on the meds, and honestly feel pretty good. But I can’t stay home from work forever while trying to pass this stone.

For those of you who have been thru it, how much time did you miss from work? How long before it passed? How much pain in the latter stages? How did you manage the pain?
