Offense Observations:
Tech's played the three best Big 12 defenses (one of them twice), but still has the highest eFG% in the conference, although that's largely the result of us shooting very well from 3 (2nd in the conference to UT). Outside of three less-than-stellar offensive nights (BU, @ WVU, & @ TCU), we've been really tough to guard.
I think Tech's offensive rebounding is a huge weapon against certain teams and lineups. Only BU/KU/WVU have a higher OR%, but there are some sacrifices that come with playing big lineups. Tech can hurt you on the glass with small-ball lineups, which is a dangerous combo.
Only WVU playing at a higher tempo through 8 Big 12 games.
Defense Observations:
KU/BU/WVU have been more efficient defensively on a per-possession basis.
With 3/4 of the WVU & BU matchups behind us, we'll move way up in the FT rate & OR % categories.
Surprised to see us behind only KU/TCU/BU in block %. This is a credit to Holyfield.
Tech's forcing the most steals and second most turnovers per possession (behind WVU).
Tech's defending the 3-point line better than anybody.
Overall
We just need to get healthy because the above production is good enough to get in the tournament and beat anybody.
The only concern would be if 3-pt shooting variance starts going against us.
