That incident has claimed the lives of two or our railroad employees and injured a few more. Had this occurred a couple hours earlier we are likely talking more casualties.

So, every railroad crossing has a blue sign with a 1-800 posted on it and the unique crossing id number on it. I would urge anyone to add this number to your phone contacts (it is the same 1-800 number across the Union Pacific system). Every second counts in these situations and the soon train traffic can be notified to stop the more likely incidents like these can be avoided. 1-800-848-8715
