So with the soon to be released football schedule, I have some wishes for how it will set up. In no particular order, I am hoping for the following:
1. We have a road trip to Iowa State. Let’s hope it’s before November.
2. It would be nice to get a bye week mid-season to take full advantage of it. A second bye week right before conference starts is great as well.
3. No back to back road games. This also helps with those of us coming to home games as it’s tough to make the drive to Lubbock on back to back weekends.
4. Not a big fan of a home game on Thanksgiving weekend, but if we do it this would be the year since we have a basketball game already scheduled with A&M on Friday night. What a Tech sports weekend that would be. Can you imagine the red-black fall baseball game on Sunday!
5. Since we have a home game with Colorado, put it late on the schedule. They hype early and fade late.
6. No Thursday or Friday games. Did that in 2023.
Here is my dream schedule. Let’s see how close it comes to reality:

Washington State 9/7 Away
North Texas 9/14 Home
Bye Week 9/21
Arizona State 9/28 Home

Would be nice to get several of the above wants. All pure speculation of course. While we already know who and where we play, the schedule to be released in the near future will give us the when.
