After reading the "Texas Tech gets it's QB" thread and reading all the talk about how Jett is just a 2 stars and 2 stars never amount to anything I decided to play around with the numbers from a spreadsheet someone posted. A few disclaimers before I give you my results: These numbers are from only one season and is not nearly enough data to draw significant conclusions from. I think it will be interesting to see how the numbers change as the years go by (which is the only reason I started playing with these numbers). Also, the number of "busts" that are from Tubervilles recruiting classes is HUGE compared to Kingsburys one recruiting class (I gave Tuberville the 2013 class because Kingsbury didn't get hired until Dec 2012). I suspect one of the reasons for this is because some of the developing players turn into busts when they don't develop enough for the coaches to get playing time.

There where a total of 130 recruits between 2010 and 2014:
23 were 2 stars (18%)
88 were 3 stars (68%)
17 were 4 stars (12%)
2 were un-ranked (2%)

28% of our recruits started
18% were contributors
12% were developing
11% completed their eligibility
35% ether never arrived or were busts

Of Kingsburys recruits
38% were starters
23% contributed
27% were developing
12% were busts

Of Tubervilles recruits
26% started
12% contributed
9% were developing
13% completed eligibility
40% were busts

2 star recruits
13% started
4% contributed
22% were developing
4 % completed eligibility
43% were busts

3 star recruits
33% started
16% contributed
10% were developing
8% completed eligibility
33% busted

4 star recruits
24% started
0% contributed
12% were developing
29% completed eligibility
35% busted

Un-ranked recruits
50% started
50% completed eligibility

If you want me to calculate something else using this data please let me know.

Remember, there is not enough data to draw any major conclusions and I probably just wasted a bunch of time calculating all of this but I'm a numbers guy and I like looking at stuff like this.
