OT; Hyperthyroidism

Had a checkup with the doc about some sleep issues for the past few weeks. I'm going to get my bloodwork taken tomorrow to confirm but wanted to see if anyone else has dealt with it.

I'm 35, in pretty good shape and try to stay as active as possible. In November I went 3 days not being able to sleep. Night sweats, etc. They prescribed some low dose anxiety stuff.

I get super on edge for no good reason. Sweat in cold rooms, etc. It was just so annoying.

I've tried melatonin. I've tried Unisom. Magnesium. You name it. But the bouts only come on at acute times every few months or so. I'm hoping the blood draw gives the answer as it sounds pretty easy to treat.

Creation Museum and Ark Encounter

Absolutely incredible experience.

The botanical gardens at the CM are some of, if not the best I’ve ever been in. Immaculately planned and maintained. Personal favorite was a talk on the geography of Jerusalem…my wife is finally considering a visit.

The Ark is massive, and the entire facility is almost like a theme park in scale.

I’d highly recommend doing the Creation Museum first, then the Ark Encounter. Plan to spend a full day at each, and I could easily see another day or half day at each if you really want to do everything.

While you’re in the area, hit up Cincinnati. Very underrated city. Some great examples of Art Deco architecture.

We will be back when the kids are older to get a more mature experience.

STORY: Jalin Conyers representing West Texas ahead of final ride with Red Raiders

Got a chance to talk to the new face at tight end for an extended period yesterday. Really good stuff from him and he is a very intriguing add to this offense.

Youth Flag Football Lubbock

Hello, struggling to find many viable options on the internet. Wondering if some of yall have any insights.

Looking for a Flag Football league in Lubbock or surrounding for my 6 year old/almost 7. He did Frenship last year and loved it, however their Flag ends at 7 and I'm just not comfortable getting him involved in Tackle yet. We loved that league because they play on Sundays, but we could do Saturdays, it's just a harder day for us. But just curious what others have done or who they have played with in the past?

Kamala Harris for President! Seriously!

Now that it's leaked out not so accidentally that the President is not going to run for a 2nd term (whether he knows yet or agrees), the obvious answer is to have the Vice President as the next Democratic nominee for President. Our current Vice President is a PIONEER in so many ways, and as it has been pointed out a number of times if you don't think she's qualified you are a racist.

So it's shocking to me to see that the folks doing the leaking don't seem to share my excitement for Kamala. Are they racists? I mean, this woman is a PIONEER and was very, very qualified to be one heartbeat away from the presidency when she was elected. Heck, there's no doubt she's as very, very qualified as Sarah Palin -- another PIONEER who was chosen for VP because she was very, very qualified and not because of her physical traits.

And let's just say what we're all thinking (all of us who aren't racists!): Kamala has done a bang-up job as the Border Czar and with the hundreds scores tens ones of speeches she's done internationally showing her vast foreign policy experience. So what if the French folks feel like she insulted them when she mocked the way they talk? They clearly don't know that this woman is a PIONEER who was very, very qualified to be one heartbeat away from the presidency.

Apparently many of her supporters from just a year and a half ago have become racists because they are openly not supporting her as the obvious answer as the next Democratic nominee for president. In fact, it's almost like she doesn't exist except when her name is mentioned and the subject is quickly changed. I for one heard them loud and clear when they were proclaiming anyone who thought she wasn't qualified, or who thought she was wrong for not spending any time at the border even though she was Border Czar, or who thought the few speeches she gave were poor -- were racists.

So I'm going to say it now: Kamala should be the Democratic nominee now that we know Paw Paw is being put out to pasture. She HAS to be the nominee because she's a PIONEER and is very, very qualified. She's the one who needs to run against DeSantis in 2024.

Although he did not get a majority of the vote, Josh Kelly received more than 30% of the vote and won by more than 5 points so we avoid a run-off and go straight to the vote for the 3rd best player on the team. Two super seniors top the list which is probably how it should be

Running List:
1) Tahj Brooks - RB - Super Senior
2) Josh Kelly - WR - Super Senior

It will be interesting to see where these Kelly votes move to as we keep going. Who do we think is better out of Rodriguez and Roberts? The TE room is awesome, are there multiple top 10 players there? Are there any? Let's find out!

Best Meal In Your Town

It's closing time at work. Time to eat all weekend, and consume as many beverages as my wife sees fit.

I am always on the road and looking for the best food around whatever area I am in. Was curious what some of your favorites are. We can use this as an encyclopedia for finding food when travelling.

We can format it like this: Town, Restaurant, Favorite item(s)

I live in Justin TX (near TX Motor Speedway in North North Fort Worth). My favorite place here is Outlaw Burger/BBQ. They've got a whiskey brisket burger that is so so good, and their fries are some of my favorites.

UPDATE: Texas Tech Local Media Day

We are here at Jones Stadium to chat with a long list of players and a good chunk of the coaching staff.

Going to have feature stories over the week and will post nuggets in here today. Follow along!

Up date on Soaring Club/ good

First you should know you have some of the best soaring and flying in your area and I want to help you develop it.
Sorry for the mis types but I am 77 and have hand problems. I start a new post because I seem to cause so much irritation I want to make sure I contact the 10 or so that might be interested..

I bought a training glider, beautiful for Lubbock area yesterday here in DFW and they are coming to get it soon. I wire transferred the money yesterday, It is beautiful. Will be in West Texas soon. A Switzer 2-22. Was a picture of it in Trade a plane. Two Place trainer you can auto tow or winch or airplane tow, the best.
I was in contest at Littlefield once and low and hit a thermal that took me to 16,000,

I was a founder of the Soaring Club of Houston while I was in law school , 15 and now 200, I founded the Hamilton with 4 Nationally ranked pilots and world pilot Ken Sorenson, Hamilton Soaring Club SW of Waco 70 miles. Look at it Web pages. I was one of 2 founders, now 90.

I was a member of Texas Soaring ASS for a few years and it is 200 folk all good pilots. You make life long friendships doing this together. You have to have good eyes and good hand coordination and good judgement and intelligence.

At both those club are the finest pilots around. Most sailplane pilot are Airline and Military. I was a nationally ranked contest pilot at one time. never a dent in it. We had 6 astronauts' in our club in Houston. One told me he could never do what we did. Well he could if he had the time.

I will post again for you to send e mail to my son if you are interested. We prefer folks with sailplane ticket and then power pilots. WE are looking for a good airport within a hour drive. We have 3 we are visiting with seriously .

If some one is really interested go to SSA web page and look around. If you wan to go get your sailplane or instructors ticket contact Morority New Mexco group or Hobbs group.. If interested buy the book Joy of Soaring. You have a great resource there, the air equivalent of the Pacific ocean and not fishing swimming or swimming surfing. It is free! In the war Lubbock had the most flying day of any place but someplace in Arizona. You Soarable days are 50 percent and you can do some on the right winter days.

We want info so we can try to manage group and safe growth. We would love to find some one in the area we could two the glider with instead of car tow. Sorry for all the irritation I seem to cause. Just not good at this with hand issues. Hubcity I will repost my sons e mail for info we need. or question later to day. My Contest number was EK
