Big12 Expansion

Once Texas and OU leave, the Big12 will have 12 teams. Both the SEC and Big10 will have 16. To secure the future, it probably makes sense to add 4 more to get to 16 as well. So who do you add?

Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Utah may make the most geographical sense. But Oregon and Washington are bigger/better brands. I think the Big10 will go after both Oregon and Washington, but if they do not would you add them to the Big12 plus the Arizona schools and call it a day?

The Arizona schools are a given if we expand. Adding Oregon and Washington adds risk when the Big10 comes calling, but how do you leave them on the table and add Utah/Colorado?

Thoughts?

HOOPS: With JT Toppin now in the mix, what are some potential starting lineups for Texas Tech?

Let me know what are your ideas for starting lineups? Felt like this was worth looking at so here we go...

Big 12 Championship Odds

All I know is I'm gonna be pissed if KU wins a Conference Title before we do. They keep getting these high preseason rankings even though we still kick their ass every year. With that said, I'd rather they win it than Utah or Arizona.

If the Football Gods have any empathy whatsoever for the suffering our fans have gone through over the past decade, this year's Tech team finally lives up to last year's preseason rankings and we go 11-1 during the regular season and beat Kansas State in the championship game.

Utah finishes 8-4 with losses @ Xerox, Vs. Zona, Vs. Iowa St, and @UCF and we never again have to hear their fans talk about coming here and winning by default.

KU finishes 7-5 with losses @WVU, vs. TCU, @ KSU, vs. ISU, @ BYU.

Tech finishes 11-1 with a loss @ISU, beats KSU in the Big 12 Championship Game. Then of course we'd get served up to Georgia like Happy Hour Nachos in the playoff and at least play them closer than TCU did.

Future of GOP

The GOP is at an historical and precarious crossroads. Lifelong Republican here. Never liked Trump as a person. Could even say I despised him as a person and even argued with other republicans on here adamantly two years ago about how he was going to tear apart the party and lose the next election with his antics, and that turned out to be true.

That said, I 100% got the appeal and supported the vast majority of his policies. And with my fear of the radical left extreme nonsense ever creeping closer to home, I voted for the lesser of two evils.

Now we find ourselves with a small but loud faction of almost religious like support for a moronic bully that I guess makes people feel empowered because he wouldn’t take any crap from the left and was able to make fun of and call out the lunacy of the left, but did so in such an irritating and undignified way.

If the Trump followers either break apart or become apathetic again, the GOP is in trouble for the foreseeable future. There needs to be a dynamic candidate that emerges to appeal to both factions of republicans and also pull some from the moderate left. Doubling down and continuing to find another Trump like candidate will be a losing proposition in my opinion.

Just a dad here working my network and connections for my son (job related).

My son has been waiting on his past two paychecks and getting the run around. Finally found out today that his company is in bad shape and they are not going to be able to pay him his weekly salary for the past two weeks. They said he was welcome to continue as commission only (he was getting a small base plus commission) but they have not inventory or stock and everything he has sold, they are unable to fulfil. It sucks, because he was so excited for this opportunity when it came around last year.

He is not on RRS, but many of you know him. He's a good kid looking to make it in sales. He has a background in sales and customer service/support as well as other unique talents. Would love to put him in contact with any fellow Tech guys and gals that would be in a position to talk to him about opportunities.

He lives in Aubrey so would be looking for the DFW area with travel or remote ideal.

As an added bonus, him and his wife are expecting our first grandchild, so I would be grateful for any opportunities that might come his way since he has a mortgage and a new baby to take care of.

Message me if you I can put him in contact with you. I want to help him with my network, but it's on him to earn anything he is offered.

Official 2024 Election Thread (Very Political)

As of yesterday, we are six months out from Election Day. Figure we need a new thread to bring in some new posters with some refreshing takes! Let's not run them off right way NYC and RRR, give them a chance to partake.

Who will win the worst Presidential Election in the history of our great nation?

Unless there is a serious slip up, not just one of his usual gaffes by Biden, I think he wins. I just don't see how Trump with his half a dozen trials he's in, wins.
